  • Woodward Academy Hosts NAIS 2008 Institute for Leadership in Sustainability

    A record sixty attendees from independent schools from the US and Canada convened at Woodward Academy this past Monday for a week-long session on environmental sustainability. The purpose of the Institute is to provide a venue for instruction, dialogue, and support while also encouraging participants to work together to develop practical action plans and strategies on how to take their schools to the next step on the environmental sustainability continuum.

  • Search Commences for New Woodward Academy President

    Ben F. Johnson III ’61, Chairman of the Woodward Academy Governing Board, has announced the beginning of the search process for a new president of the Academy.

    Woodward will partner with SpencerStuart, a leading global executive search firm, to identify candidates from independent schools, colleges and universities and other appropriate arenas. The search committee will include 10 members of the Governing Board; 10 members of the faculty and staff will act as an advisory committee in the search process.

    Woodward seeks a highly qualified educator at the top of the profession who will continue to provide visionary leadership and enhance the school’s visibility both locally and nationally.

    “As we begin this process, I continue to be wholly confident in the current leadership team to seamlessly guide and direct the school in the interim. We will continue to provide our students with the best educational experience possible,” Mr. Johnson said.
