  • Tennis Sweeps State Championships!!!

    Woodward Academy swept the AAAA Boys and Girls Tennis Championships on Saturday at the Clayton International Park. The Boys team won their third straight State Championship with a 3-0 win over Marist while the Girls team won the girls title with a win over Region 2-AAAA foe McIntosh. Congratulations to both teams on a fantastic season! 5/12/2008

  • Girls Soccer Falls in Semi-Finals

    The Varsity Girls Soccer team lost to St. Pius in the AAAA State Semi-finals on Wednesday. Woodward held the lead for much of the match until St.Pius tied the score at 1-1 with three minutes remaining. The winner would finally be determined in a penalty kick shootout with St. Pius winning 5 to 4. Congratulations to the Lady War Eagles on a great season! 5/8/2008

  • Girls Golf AAAA State Champions!!

    The Girls Golf team sent shock waves through the Georgia golf community by pulling off the biggest upset in girl's golf 12 year existence. The Woodward team of seniors Kathleen Berman and Laurie King, junior Felicity Lloyd-Jones, sophomore Chloe Bootstaylor, and freshman Haley Zagoria did the unthinkable and defeated the 16 team field with a one stroke victory to win the AAAA State Golf Championship!!! This is the Girls Golf team's 4th championship in five years. 5/6/2008

  • Boys Track and Field Region Champs!

    Woodward Academy's Boys Track and Field teams won the Region 2-AAAA Championship on Monday at the Woodward Track Complex. Woodward would enter the 4x400 Relay trailing leader McIntosh by 4 points. In their best time of the season, 3:25.11, the 4x400 team of Zach Castellano, Emanuel Jones, Jamal Paige, and Justin Watkins placed 2nd to qualify for the state meet and secure Woodward's first boys track region championship in 10 years. Congratulations to the 8 boys who qualified for state: Drew Phillips, Nathan Vassey, Zach Castellano, Emanuel Jones, Jamal Paige, Justin Watkins, Jay Porterfield, and Juwan Thompson 4/29/2008
